This meet was repeated following the oversubscribed meet of 11 August 2016. In anticipation of a hot and sunny day (which failed to appear until lunchtime) we left Constantia Nek at 07h00 and walked up Orange Kloof and Disa Gorge, arriving at the Woodhead Dam at 09h00. We then walked down the Jeep Track as far as the car park, then turned towards Wynberg Cave. Shortly before the Cave we turned west along a poorly defined path to the Vivarium where, I am pleased to report, there was no mutiny. We all crawled into the Vivarium where the resident endemic Spelaeogriphus lepidops obliged by swimming before us in the stream. After admiring the view from the cave towards Hout Bay we walked to the Club hut, along the railway trackbed towards Grootkop as far as the top of Slangolie, and down Disa Gorge for lunch in the shade by the stream. After looking at the Woodhead Tunnel entrance we returned to Constantia Nek at about 14h30.
It was a grand day out, with appreciative comments from all present. We are looking forward to welcoming Ann Ferguson and Rosemary Barson to Club membership in due course.
