Brian Lambourne ran a beginners’ sport climbing meet at Lakeside Pinnacle on 20 April, assisted by Armelle De Mey.
The three eager participants learned how to tie on to a harness, belay, and how to climb a sport route on a top rope and on lead. A safety rope was used for the latter skill which proved most useful when one of the participants fell whilst attempting to clip the second bolt!
