The four of us set off in wind-free but cold conditions – the north facing route was off-path and after the recent rain the undergrowth was still wet. The views opened out as we gained height and after rising 800 meter we reached the Constantiaberg beacon where we literally felt on top of the world. We were also rewarded with swiftly flowing rivers and waterfalls. The route down was via Blackburn Ravine and then Alfie’s Track to East Fort from where we walked back to the cars after a 6.5 hour day.
