A balmy spring Saturday morning saw our group gather at Op-die-Berg on to venture into the Kouebokkeveld for some wandering, exploration, camping, scrambling and impromptu pine-hacking. Charles led us through the convoluted and dramatic features typical of the area to a beautiful high vlakte that became our home for the night, in perfect stillness, under a gibbous moon.
On Sunday morning we scrambled around some of the wonderful features that overlook the campsite, before setting off back in the direction of the cars via a slightly different route than the one we’d followed on our outward journey. We all thoroughly enjoyed a magical weekend in splendid Cape mountains in the company of kindred spirits.
