We had perfect weather conditions on the day which helped frame the wonderful views we had throughout our hike. Starting early enabled us to almost reach the top of Blackburn Ravine before the sun hit us and provided warmth while we enjoyed tea. Then it was through the ‘dippers’ making up the Panorama route – stopping every now and again to soak up the views around us. The 17 of us made good time and we were on top of Noordhoek Peak in time for an early lunch – finding shelter from the strong south-easter just below the beacon. Then it was homeward bound down to the cars that had been positioned before we started the hike – finishing at 1:30 pm.
