While others indulged in Summer School, a group of 11 drought-stricken Capetonians were treated to cool, gushing, mountain water and beautiful pools. The group availed themselves, not for the first time, of the special concession to walk the circular route from Tweede Tol in Bain’s Kloof. They were pleasantly surprised by the greenness all around, and treated to aloes flowering bountifully at this time of year! The highlight, of course, was having lunch in the shade at the waterfall, where some brave souls swam in both pools. The rest of the route followed the river and swims were enjoyed at two more pools, each with its own set of little waterfalls, and bath-sized potholes.
