On Thursday 31 January 2019 a party of 17 up headed up Silverstream Ravine and stopped for tea beneath the cliffs at the top.
Rather than climbing the cliffs the party then traversed to the left along the first ledge, Silverstream Traverse. They continued straight from the Silverstream Traverse along the second ledge, Ledges Traverse, using a rope to climb to the top.
The party had intended to continue to the final ledge, Carrel’s Ledge, and descend by cable car. However the wet, windy conditions meant the cable car was not running and the party decided to return via Platteklip Gorge.
