Our 15-strong party set off at 07.30am on a typical spring day. Warmer conditions had suddenly arrived which was such a contrast from the challenging rain and cold conditions we had become accustomed to during the winter. After ascending Corridor Ravine, in the shade, we stopped for tea on St Paul’s Peak and enjoyed the wonderful views. We then set off towards Kasteel’s Poort and as the day was still young we took a detour to Postern Buttress, its gullies and boulder obstacles providing some interest. Again we were rewarded with sweeping views. After enjoying a leisurely lunch at Rendezvous Cave we descended KP and were back at the cars by 2.00pm.
