We were a diverse group of hikers including an Everest and 7 Summits summiteer, all with one objective in mind, to savour the fun and excitement that Table Mountain has to offer! Our early start meant that we were at our tea spot on Klaasens Buttress lower ledge soon after 9.00am where we enjoyed shade and wonderful views into Orange Kloof.
We then followed the lower ledge until above De Villiers dam where we followed a rock scramble route up to Klaasenskop. As it was too early for lunch we all agreed that another tea stop and chat would be in order! Some of the more adventurous souls explored the surrounding rock passages and scaled the summit.
It was soon after 11:30am that we set off on our return. Once back on the Constantia Corner path we headed down to De Villiers dam and descended via the jeep track and short cut arriving back at the cars at about 12.45pm.
