The blurb promised – A variety of terrain in this fynbos-rich area. The route covers about 15 kms, but not to the top of any peaks.
Promises were kept on a glorious weather day as seen in photos. Variety of terrain included narrow path through kilometers of fynbos-rich mountain slopes, passing the nearby peaks, above and along the Palmiet River, then along the lively Kleinmond coast. Rich fynbos included some endangered or rare species whilst walking through head-high Bot River proteas (compacta). And the elusive protea cordata flowers were open! September bush was flowering in June, vygies thriving in salty water!
