We had the most perfect weather day to enjoy the splendid scenery that Table Mountain has to offer. Climbing the high points, the peaks and buttresses, on the mountain always rewards one with wonderful views, that change as the weather conditions change.
We reached our main objective, St Paul’s Peak in time for tea at 10am. From there we moved across to Frustration Maze and explored the narrow fissures through the rocks, also reaching the highest point on this outcrop of rocks. After making our way down the south facing side we found a shady lunch spot that gave us panoramic views of Grootkop.
After a leisurely lunch we decided to descend via Oudekraal Ravine and the long traverse back to Rontree Estate in Camps Bay. The 17 of us were back at the cars by 2:45pm.
