The party of 10 met at the bottom of Tafelberg road at 8am and hiked along the pipe track until the Blinkwater Ravine path was reached. We were surprised to come across another party doing the same route.
The path initially follows the ridge to the right of the ravine before descending into the ravine itself. A number of pleasant B grade scrambles were negotiated before we exited to the left of the ravine by a short chain.
After a brief lunch at the top we proceeded to the upper cable way station and descended by cable way. This took longer than expected as the cable way computer system was offline and they were unable to print tickets. This is the second time in a couple of weeks that we have experienced a delay as a result of the system being offline. Whilst the majority of the party appreciated the pensioners discount it is a pity that there is not some contingency plan to issue tickets manually when the system is offline.
