This B route on Table Mountain was first climbed by K Cameron and M Webb on 31 May 1914.
108 years later our party of 16 met at the bottom of Tafelberg road at 8am and walked along the pipe track as far as the Diagonal route path.
The path was followed until the level of the traverse across Porcupine Buttress where the party tuned left to follow the gully between Blinkwater Needle and Porcupine Buttress.
The party was soon wet from the vegetation but was rewarded by a sighting of a Verreaux’s eagle shortly before the saddle.
After a brief stop for tea at the saddle the party proceeded to the upper cable way station for the descent, returning to the cars at 1.30.
