Four MCSA members joined the regular four Elsie’s Peak Hacking Group on a blustery berg wind day at sunrise on the 11th June. The aim was to clear the Glencairn side of the mountain of alien vegetation, which comprised mainly of Rooikrans.
Three hours and lots of hard work later, we returned satisfied that good clearing had been done, from pulling out seedlings to felling big trees. Well done to all concerned. The fynbos is recovering beautifully from being densely infested infested with aliens.
It certainly was a hack with a view!
