This route was first climbed by H.Bishop and S.B. Morgenrood on 21 August 1892.
An MCSA party of 9 met at Tafelberg Road at 8am and hiked up to the Contour Path.
With the assistance of a chain we climbed to the ledge above and then followed the path to the Poort.
The intention was to do the original exposed pitch over the chock stone but owing to the extremely high wind we opted to climb the crack with the assistance of a chain instead.
After some further scrambling we climbed the 11 inch crack in a generally undignified manner and then onto Fountain Ledge.
Three of the party elected to hike down India Venster whilst the remaining six hiked to the upper cable way station to find a lengthy slow moving queue as a result of load shedding. (A generator allows the cable way to operate but at a greatly reduced capacity).
The India Venster group were back at the cars an hour before the cable way group.
