A Tale of Two Meets.
This route generated a lot of interest for its potential disa viewing. I was greatly assisted by Pam Robertson, who very kindly offered to lead an advance group starting at 06:30, taking advantage of the cooler temperatures. The second group departed at 07:00, and made good progress, stopping where there were a few disas visible mainly high on the rock walls. We also found some recently fallen rock near the top of the ravine. The exit path beyond the shaded section is severely degraded, with loose stones which could easily be dislodged. Due care was needed here.
Continuing up the grassy saddle, we saw many pulled pines which we attributed to the efforts of the advance group, contributing a few more ourselves. Some time later the two parties passed each other and compared notes at the foot of Judas Peak. All hikers got safely back down, having enjoyed perfect, mild conditions.
