Shortly after 08h00 our party of 16 started out from East Fort on Chapman’s Peak Drive, made good progress in lovely hiking weather via the Old Forestry path shortcut and on up to the forest base of Blackburn Ravine.
From here, the well contoured path took us up to the nek below Constantiaberg overlooking Silvermine in the other direction. We continued up and down along did the Panarama (or Skyline) route to Noordhoek Peak stopping in a sheltered spot just short of the peak to enjoy ‘tea’ with lovely views of Hout Bay and beyond!
After ascending the Peak we continued to the Ridge above Noordhoek and then descended steeply to return via the lower contour path. But first at the junction with the lower contour, as planned two members descended to waiting cars on Chapman’s Peak Drive, while the rest of the party did the full circle with lunch in the little forest en route.
We got back to East Fort at about 14h40 after yet another a lovely day on the mountain. Thank you all for making it fun, and to Laetitia for a lovely set of photos to accompany the report.
