The party of 12 met at Kloof Nek at 8am and proceeded along the Pipe Track before breaking away to bundu bash to the start of Cairn Ravine.
The route was first opened by H. Austin and G. F. Travers-JacksononĀ on 12 November 1898.
After inspecting some cave like rooms that were built under an overhang to the left of the waterfall the party proceeded up the Ravine which involved B/C grade scrambling.
A rock was dislodged which narrowly missed a member of the party and served as a reminder of the instability of Table Mountain and the need to exercise extreme care when scrambling.
At the top of the Ravine the scrambling continued to Fountain Ledge for lunch. After lunch 8 of the party descended by India Venster with the remaining 4 continuing to the upper cable way station to descend by cable way. All were back at the cars by 2pm.
