Seven mountaineers met at Theresa Avenue on Saturday morning to climb Blind Gully. The weather was absolutely perfect and made for an amazing day out.
After a brisk walk along the Pipe Track and the lower portions of Diagonal, we arrived at the start of the Blind Gully route. The watercourse had a river running down it after the rain we had earlier in the week. Hiking in this pristine area with the peaceful sound of the water running was really great.
We climbed up the Needle and enjoyed the breathtaking views from the top before heading off on the final section of the route up the headwall. The summit of Blinkwater Peak was an added bonus on our hike and in these perfect conditions it was the perfect way to end the ascent.
We followed the Diagonal route back down to the cars.
Thank you to Johan, Ilana, Dennis, Heidi, Ruth, Helena and Felix for the photos.
