Please note that all bookings are subject to a guest ratio of one adult member to one guest, up to a maximum of four guests on any one night.
Built between 2020 and 2024, and opened on 18 January 2025, Sybas Hut is the Cape Town Section’s newest structure. It stands above the confluence of Superior Kloof and the Waaihoekskloof River, on our Waaihoeksberg property in the Hex River mountains.
Property
The red, steel-clad building sits in the centre of the property and provides fantastic access to many features in this area of the Hex. With a cozy wooden interior, the building is softened and provides comfortable lodging. Views up the impressive Superior Kloof and surrounding mountains are framed by a large window. Situated at an altitude of 850m, it is about 4.9km from the CapeNature parking for Jan du Toit’s Kloof. The route up is a mix of path walking and boulder hopping, as it is necessary to cross both the Waaihoekskloof River and its tributaries along the way. The river crossings are well cairned, but the route should not be underestimated, and surefootedness and agility are required to reach the hut, despite the seemingly short distance from the parking.
