The 16 of us tackled strong winds along the Diagonal route and on top of Table Mountain – it took extra care to remain upright on Postern Buttress! But one can always find a sheltered spot to have tea and Rendezvous cave ticked all the boxes. We were unable to explore Valken cracks as planned due to the strong winds so we had time in hand and set off for Tranquility cracks that also provided another sheltered spot for lunch. We had decided that Corridor Ravine would be our descent route and by this time the strong gusts of wind that we had experience going up had given way to a more controlled wind. The ominous thunderstorm conditions at the start had also cleared and we retuned to the cars in relatively wind free and sunny conditions. Table Mountain once again had lived up to it’s all season’s in a day reputation!
