The 15 of us tackled the Silvermine Panorama route in strong winds and cold conditions. The ascent was via Blackburn Ravine and after lunch on Noordhoek Peak we descended to where we had pre-parked cars at the start of the Chapman’s Peak path. The windswept clear sky provided stunning views along the way, added to which was our sighting of the local Black Eagle’s juvenile still being cared for by its mother. We arrived back at the cars at 2.30pm.
