Twelve of us started just after 07h30 in great hiking weather (not too hot) from near Ruyteplaats Estate. We ascended the lower part of Hout Bay Corner and traversed below the Eureka cliffs to Llandudno Ravine from where we approached Llandudno Nek and down a slightly awkward slope to commence the partly wooded and largely off-path Lekkerwater Traverse with wonderful views north and south. We ascended to the level of the Pimple Traverse, where we had tea on a rather spectacular little peak high above The Gendarme and Lekkerwater Ravine. The return along Pimple Traverse took us to Llandudno Corner and ‘Brian’s Rock’! From there it was a short distance back full-circle to re-join the main path at the Llandudno Ravine staples and back the way we came to reach the cars before 13h30 in time for lunch at home!
Thanks to Stefan for co-leading very ably and taking some lovely photos en route, and also to everyone for yet another ‘great day on the mountain’!
