On a breezy morning, nineteen of us set off via the firebreak path from Theresa Ave. Reaching the start of Three Firs on the Pipe Track, we proceeded with due caution past the narrow, exposed section and upwards over rough, stony ground. Tea was enjoyed near the top, sheltered from the wind. It was a busy day on Three Firs: we encountered two other parties.
From the Saucy Dog, it was an easy walk past Slangolie Ravine & Tranquility Cracks and onwards to the twists and turns of Frustration Maze, where two younger members gave us a reminder of the fun it is to leap from one outcrop to another. Navigating the south side descent from the maze was a further adventure involving some bush whacking as the area seemed to have seen little recent use.
After an early lunch break near the top of Corridor Ravine, we made the descent, returning to the start at about 14h00. Many thanks to all, especially those who assisted with backup, to Stefan Braun for photos and Vivien Marais for the video.
