Sunday morning saw an eager group of climbers gather and walk up to the tea cave on the Clifton side of Lions Head. Nine trad novices, ranging from zero climbing experience to relatively experienced and keen to build knowledge were chatted through the basics of gear, climbing and abseiling by six experienced leaders.
Treated to perfect cloudy weather, small groups of three set off up a selection of popular climbs ranging from 10-15 in grade, some climbing multiple pitches to the summit.
Everyone got to climb several pitches, a good introduction to traditional climbing.
Many thanks to the generous leaders.
Smiles all round after a great day on Lions Head.
