Meet leader: George Horn.
From one of the members: “Jan du Toit’s Kloof revealed its magic slowly and then got me hooked. Walking up stream, boulder hopping and scrambling, it was such a rewarding experience. What made it extra special was the knowledge that the San lived in this Kloof hundreds of years ago. Their presence was felt.”
We enjoyed a relaxed walk up JDK to the overhang camp learning the path and trying to minimize bushwhacking in the early part.
We relaxed at overhang camp for a couple of hours and then explored further up the kloof, not quite making the buchu ladder, before returning to overhang camp.
The next day we explored up the exquisite and wild kloof leading up to the impressive south face of Mt Superior. The trees in this kloof were spectacular and the gladioli flowering in the waterfalls were a striking display of vibrant colour.
