Twelve mountaineers met on Boyes Drive for a fun scramble up Muizenberg Buttress. After a brisk walk, we arrived at the tea cave where the scrambling route starts.
Muizenberg Buttress also known as Muizenberg Corner is the standard descent route for rock climbers doing multi pitch trad routes on the cliffs of Muizenberg peak. The route follows a nice line on the right hand side of the buttress up to the top. From there we followed cairns up to the summit beacon of Muizenberg Peak.
From Muizenberg Peak we made our way across to Higher Steenberg Peak and had a lunch stop at Fat Lady’s Cave. After that we descended back down the cars on Boyes Drive.
Thank you to everyone for a great day in the mountains.
