The ominous promise of heavy rain and strong winds did not deter the 12 determined women who gathered at Rycroft gate in the early morning!
We knew that the planned long route had to be curtailed and chose to ascend Nursery Ravine so as to reach the top of the mountain as quickly as possible.
We were greeted at the top by soft rain and unpleasant wind.
The sequoias at Nursery Valley provided a sheltered and beautiful tea spot.
Donning our full rain gear we took the safest route to descend in the inclement weather – the zigzag of Spilhaus Ravine.
We had fun in the rain and felt that we had had a good workout!
