A small but competent group signed up for this meet, setting off from Kirstenbosch in perfect conditions. Concerns about the amount of water in the Skeleton Gorge stream, although justified, were mitigated by everyone’s positive attitude: the 15 min section was safely negotiated by all. At the top, we headed left towards Nursery Buttress, traversing around via the overhang where we appreciated the view over tea.
As it was quite early in the day, we included a trip up Reserve Peak, then back along Ash Valley to connect with the southern section of Smuts’ Track. Our descent was via Cecilia Ridge, returning to the start at 14:00.
Thanks to all for their cheerful company and to Simone and Natalie for photographs.
