The weather kept us guessing till the morning but it turned into a beautiful day. 18 very eager climbers gathered at the base of Lions Head before splitting into trios and heading off to the cliffs.
A great number of pitches were climbed including White Face, Rainbow Crag, Main Line, Clifton Crest, Aquanaut and Juggernaut.
For many, it was their first trad climb, coming from an accomplished sport climbing or gym background.
For the novice trad leaders, experience in leading and exploring Lions Head was gained. This included a first lead by the youngest member of the group at 14 years of age – hopefully many more to come.
For two novices it was their first roped climbing adventure and they tackled this very gallantly.
