Our group of eight set off from Theresa Avenue on a perfect morning. Two of our longer serving members had expressed concern about the composition of the group who they felt were too strong for them and that they would hold up the show. I reminded them that I had described the hike as leisurely so they came along and we all had a very relaxed and enjoyable outing. A southerly breeze kept us cool most of the way. A great deal of work has been done on the path from the point that it leaves the bottom of Corridor Ravine to the top of Oudekraal and it is almost unrecognisable from the overgrown rough trail of a year ago. Steps supported by wooden logs now run some distance up the ravine to the solid stone section near the top. We spotted a group of three klipspringers on the side of Grootkop, a fine addition to the beautiful scenery. We were back at the cars by 1pm after breaks for tea at the top of Oudekraal Ravine and lunch under the overhang near Slangolie Ravine with views across to the Three Firs trail.
