Five families headed up Constantia Corner, starting under the clouds and soon finding ourselves right in them. Fortunately it was not cold, and the mist created a wonderful sense of adventure. As usual, the kids loved the short rock scrambles and were happy to reach the snack spot under Camel Rock, which we were lucky to glimpse from a distance during a rare break in the mist.
A few brave souls climbed onto Camel Rock itself, with some of the more experienced climbers in our group acting as spotters. After refueling with sweets, tea, and hot chocolate, we made our way back down from De Villiers Dam. By that stage, the mist had lifted, offering us a beautiful view of the ridge we had climbed earlier.
