A very memorable hike, perfect weather, little wind, great visibility, 10 club members and one guest from Belgium.
We started at 8 am, straight up the road to the contour path along the ridge. Flowers were brilliant.
Along the ridge, the various ups and downs, to Blackburn Ravine Lookout, newly rebuilt, for tea.
Then the long slog up the mountain and back down again to Elephant’s Eye for lunch. Although we were having a holiday, the mountain was busy, with lots of children, but not unpleasantly so. The water was running strongly in the stream on the way down after Elephant’s Eye.
In all, we walked five hours and had two lengthy breaks.
