We were up in the clouds – a perfect day to experience ever-changing mountain scenes. The views never remained for long before being obliterated by cloud. This made route finding all the more interesting and enhanced the remoteness one can experience in such conditions.
We ascended Llandudno Buttress, which lined us up to follow the ridge above Hout Bay before crossing over to the Judas Peak ridge and climbing the peak itself.
The cloud had surrounded us fully for the descent, which was via Llandudno Ravine. We stopped for a quick lunch along the traverse back towards Hout Bay.
The 10 of us took just under 6 hours to complete the 8km route.
