MRR 2017 – Register Before 3 April

Climbing 16 March 2017 MRR 2017 – Register Before 3 April

The Montagu Rock Rally – the yearly gathering of rock climbers – is once again taking place in the lovely and tranquil town of Montagu on 8 April 2017, and the MCSA (Cape Town Section) is proud to be a sponsor!

Register BEFORE 3 APRIL at https://goo.gl/forms/RQWwmIHcZCDdON7A3.

Whether you’re the seasoned climber with hands of leather or the beginner who doesn’t know what a carabiner is, the Montagu Rock Rally (MRR) weekend is about bringing the climbing community together, promoting the sport and having a jol whilst doing it! As usual the rally serves as a fundraiser for the Anchor Replacement Fund (ARF). For those who don’t know, ARF makes sure the bolts we climb on are safe.

As always there will be great prizes e.g. for hardest sends, points score, best dressed couple, etc. So come along, bring your family, your friends and even your dog for a fun day of climbing followed by a prizegiving, banquet dinner and party.

Planning Information

Climbers will all arrive in Montagu on Friday afternoon (7 April) or early Saturday morning (8 April). The Rock Rally competition officially starts at 8.30am on Saturday and goes till about 6pm.

Monster Munch will have their food truck at De Bos on Saturday morning from 6am. They will have breakfast rolls & toasties for sale.

The Prizegiving & After Party will start around 7pm with a banquet dinner by local Montagu food legends Charlotte & Nico of Pikkiwyntjie Kombuis and there will be a DJ in the De Bos courtyard playing tunes into the night.
