A party of 10 met on Tafelberg Road and hiked up the Saddle Path and then along the Knife Edge to the start of the Ledges Route which is marked by a long slanting block resembling a ships prow.
Numerous short scrambling pitches were climbed with the final one being roped.
The party then went on to traverse Carrell’s Ledge including stepping around a block on an exposed ledge known as the Mauvais Pas.
After a brief lunch as Maclear’s Beacon the party split into 3 to descend by way of India Venster, Platteklip and the Cable Way.
