Twelve of us left from Theresa Avenue just after 07h00 in breathless and already warm conditions. Preferring the off road pine route to the base of Wood buttress, we skirted round it’s base to Spring Buttress. We started up on the Three Firs route which avoids a difficult initial scramble from the Pipe Track. After the Rollover Rock traverse we ascended up the slope passing four fellow hikers resting in the lower overhang. Everyone managed the exposed pitch with relative ease and we enjoyed an extended beverage break in the upper overhang soon after 09h00. After bevies, some posing was practised on the perch (always tempting, almost mandatory) and we look forward to the pics. Thanks Stefan. Next, the chimney and two exposed pitches were comfortably managed by all and we were soon on the steep, sandy, slippery slope. (Anough alliteration already). Some respite on the way up was afforded by the felling of an unfortunate pine. Scrambling up the Turret at the top was a refreshing bonus for all of us. As it was still mid-morning we headed to Frustration Maze for some much needed shade for lunch. After lunch we descended on the SW side to the Apostles path and headed for Corridor ravine. At the bottom of Corridor some fragmentation occurred with the advance party reaching the cars at 14h16 and the rearguard at 14h35. The latter choosing to take some shade and water breaks en route.
